Code of Conduct
Last updated: 24 September 2026
TEDxThonglor exists to bring people together around ideas worth spreading. That only works when everyone feels safe, respected, and free to speak. This Code of Conduct applies to everyone involved: attendees, speakers, performers, volunteers, partners, and staff, at our events and in the community and online spaces around them.
The short version
Come curious. Listen generously. Treat everyone in the room with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and intimidation of any kind are not tolerated.
What we expect
- Be respectful and considerate in speech and action.
- Assume good faith, welcome perspectives that differ from your own, and disagree with ideas rather than attacking people.
- Respect people's boundaries, identities, and consent.
- Follow the reasonable instructions of the organizing team and venue staff.
What is not acceptable
- Harassment, including unwelcome attention, comments, or contact related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, or appearance.
- Threatening, abusive, or demeaning language or behavior.
- Unwanted physical contact or sexual attention.
- Sustained disruption of talks, sessions, or other event activities.
- Recording or photographing people who have asked not to be, or sharing others' private information without permission.
In the community
Our participant tools exist to help attendees find and connect with one another. Use them for genuine connection, not unsolicited sales outreach, spam, or data scraping. Always respect the way each person has chosen to be contacted, and stop if someone asks you to.
Reporting a concern
If you experience or witness behavior that breaks this code, tell us. During an event you can speak to any member of the organizing team or a volunteer, who will be identified on the day. At any time, before or after, you can email us at tedxthonglor@gmail.com. Reports are handled discreetly and taken seriously.
Consequences
The organizing team may take any action it considers appropriate, including a warning, removal from the event or community without a refund, and being barred from future events. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone present.
This independent TEDxThonglor event is operated under license from TED.
